This project consisted of the complete renovation of a historic marble residence and separate wood frame carriage barn creating fourteen units of elderly housing; work included shoring, bracing, and lifting of carriage barn to construct a new foundation; work included site work, concrete, masonry, rough and finish carpentry, roofing, insulation, doors and windows, finishes, specialties, elevator, heating, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical.

The extensive renovations to these two registered historical buildings required careful attention to ensure preservation or appropriate repair of ornate ceilings and moldings while performing mechanical and electrical system upgrades as well as installing fire protection and an elevator

The project included the shoring, bracing, and lifting of the existing 3-level carriage barn to construct a new foundation for it; the building was in moderate to poor condition and required structural repairs to the sills, floor systems, bearing walls, and roof; the barn was restored and finished into apartment units. Funding was provided by Historic Preservation, VHCB, Vermont Community Development Program, Low Income Tax Credit, and an anonymous private fund.
