Description: This project consisted of the construction of a 17,600 square foot privately-owned state-of-the-art structural steel and masonry fitness center including exercise class rooms and equipment, weight rooms, sauna, an indoor batting cage, a child care center, a refreshment area, a physical therapy office, and locker rooms. The project was a hard bid situation in which all bids were over budget. We assisted the owners with substantial value engineering and were able to meet their construction requirements within their budget. This is a two level building set into a hill with main and lower level entrances. Construction was concrete slab on grade with full concrete foundation walls at rear and partial sides, steel frame with composite concrete floor slab, steel studs with split face block masonry veneer, architectural glazing, and flat EDPM roof. The work included an elevator, intricate mechanical systems with elaborate ventilation and three phase electrical.
