Private Residence – Orford, NH

The Fisher residence, located in Orford, NH, was a wonderful project for our team to be involved in. This project consisted of a beautiful 4 bedroom home and a detached three story "barn" that included a boat room, two bay garage, art studio area, and a single bedroom efficiency apartment. This property started out as a farmers hay field and became an owners dream home. The house and the barn rest only 100 yards away from the sandy banks of the Connecticut river. The two buildings are perched on the highest point in the 10 acre field with great views of the Green Mountains of Vermont. Naylor & Breen had a few challenges to overcome as the projected evolved, one being the drive entrance to the property. It was an existing farm road that was deemed not usable. We had to work diligently with the architect, engineer, and the home owner to meet the requirements of the state and create a driveway that climbed nearly 40' in elevation but was safe to travel in the tough winter months. This project included Hawk Hill custom cabinetry and casework, as well as a high level of detailed trim work installed by Naylor & Breen finish carpenters. Through careful design and execution between Haynes & Garthwaite and Naylor & Breen Builders, this high end, well detailed, and extremely efficient home should provide the owners with enjoyment for years to come.
